With two thousand years of history, and almost two milions inhabitants, Barcelona is located in the north-east of the Iberian Peninsula, by the Mediterranean sea and it has warm weather all the year round. No other city has such a wide selection of Modernist architecture as Barcelona. Worthy of particular attention are the works by Antonio Gaudí, "Sagrada Familia", "Park Güell" and "La Pedrera"...
Barcelona is the only European capital with more than four kilometres of beaches. On these beaches, we find two of the most important meeting points with a wide selection of bars, restaurants, shops and leisure areas.Barcelona design is applied in a surprising way in bars and nighy clubs, lively places where people go until the early hours of the morning. Edsa: Who we are?
Edsa is the European Dental Students Association. All countries within Europe having a Dental Faculty can send their delegates to the EDSA Meetings which are held twice per year. That link brings students the opportunity of making exchanges in the educational and the social fields, promoting our opinions among other students organisations and educational Dental Institutions.
Edsa: What are we doing?
The EDSA is offering to all Dental students the following activities. First of all, you are invited to remain aware of EDSA activities by the 'EDS Magazine 'and the web page in internet 'EDS Magline ' http://www.sou.uni-lj.si/eds/. Besides, these are ways of keeping all of you informed on the latest news concerning Dental Education and Dental events. The Congress, is held every two years, with the purpose of gathering as much dental students as possible for social exchanges and dental knowledge improvement. Wich one of the most interesting topics, the Exchanges Programs Socrates-Erasmus are concentrating our efforts, collaborating with the Institution responsible for it. In the same way, the EDSA wants to create the Summer University, in cooperation with the AEGEE (Association d'Étudiants des États Généraux ), wich's going to gathered a group of dental european dental students and students belonging to the AEGEE in the same frame. In the present, EDSA has established links with other European dental associations: Dental Liaison, ADEE (Association of Dental European Education), EPSA (European Pharmaceutical Students Association), AEGEE (Association des États Généraux des Étudiants Européens)...

Besides of having the possibility to any 
FDI's scientific program event, EDSA will have its own acts specially addressed to the students:

Pre-Congress
Organizing Committee wants to give all of you the opportunity to spend not just five days, but a whole week in our city. Thus some extra social activities will be organized during the three previous days (from 5th to 7th of October 98'). Besides some more night parties and local tourism like a visit to the Aquarium or to the "Spanish Village", the main event will be a full day excursion to Port Aventura, a great thematic amusement park placed in the south of Catalonia which will provide you the chance to spend a full day having fun in Chinese, Polynesian, Mexican, Far West and Medierranean environments (www.catalonia.gencat.es).

Hotel option: double room in a *** Hotel placed 5-10 minutes walking from the congress centre. Youth Hostel: Shared "party" rooms, from 2 up to 12 people. It's possible to book a room a whole group of friends in advanced by sending a letter with the names to the organizing committee.
Climate
Barcelona in these dates we have a very variable weather. Typical Mediterraian auttum. It's possible to have sun and warm temperatures up to 20-25ēC or it might rain and not hotter them 15ēC.

The official language of the Congress is English
Dressing Code
In the final ball black tie is required. In the opening ceremony Tie-jacket is required. Beach Volley, please bring with your swimming suite.
